Life update 20/02/18

Hello all! I've been feeling a bit more normal recently, I have to remind myself that I have to take rest days and I can't do everything that I want to do! I have handed in another essay for uni this week which means I only have one left for next week! And then I have had two deferred until August so I can start on them and get them out of the way. I've been planning the hen do for my dad's girlfriend which is lots of fun! It's the only time that I've wished I can have an alcoholic drink since I've been ill! It'll still be so much fun though and I just have to remind myself that I'll have to sleep in the day so I can go out at night, even though I hate being left out of the daytime activities! I've decided not to go to the Brighton half marathon now. I really want to and I'm upset that I can't go but I know I'll be shattered when I get back. Ordinarily that would be okay but because I have my essay due in on wednesday when I ge...

I'm on the list!

10.02.2018 I am now officially listed on the heart transplant list! I am listed on the 'routine' or 'active' list, which means that hearts first go to people on the urgent and critical list but if no one is suitable the heart will come down the list to me! Although I will have a long wait on this list, I am so grateful that I am able to wait at home and I am not in the hospital. If my health declined and I needed a heart more urgently I would be bumped up to the urgent list but once on that list I would have to remain an inpatient at Wythenshawe hospital, as much as I like the team there, I don't fancy living there! Once on the urgent list the wait is a lot shorter, but 5 weeks in the hospital would still feel like forever! Where as 6 months or even a year at home means I can at least live my life still. I do struggle, I barely go out anymore, I probably spend 5 days out of the week where I don't leave the house at all. When I do go out I enjoy going for din...

I need a rest!

All has been going well these last two weeks, but I think I've done too much! I became really out of breath and had a horrible feeling in my chest on Monday while I was out and about so I just went to my GP to get checked over and they did an ECG, and the next minute I knew I was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Basically the GP panicked when they saw my ECG but it turns out that's what it always looks like, but they didn't have any previous ECGs on file to compare it to. Now bare in mind, this is the first time I've ever had an ECG done at the GP. All the time I went and wanted answers they never once did an ECG even though it takes 2 minutes, so I was gobsmacked that they even had an ECG machine! Why don't they use it?? So they put an oxygen mask on me while I waited for the ambulance which I thought was hilarious, because my oxygen is 100%. Even the nurse said "it probably won't do anything but it looks like we care", I burst out laughing...
